Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask | Review

Hi Beauties,

Today I will review one of my most desired products in the recent past. I have been longing to try out an overnight mask since I had only read about it but never tried. This desire finally materialized when I purchased Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. During winter season my skin is totally the opposite as to summers. While in summers it is all oily and shiny, I can’t even call it combination skin; in winters except for my nose and chin it becomes dry, patchy and dehydrated especially around the laugh lines and cheeks. This adds a rough and dull texture to my skin as if moisture has been sucked away! Since the weather is getting colder and the breeze a bit harsh on my skin I thought I would start with the basics of my winter skin care regime – face scrub and overnight mask. While there are tons of overnight masks out there in the market, I opted for Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask.

This 100ml squeezy tube contains moisture boost wrapped in luxury. The packaging is green on the outside but the tube is nude pink and looks lovely. The texture is creamy neither too thick like a body butter nor thin like a moisturizer. This lightweight, non-greasy mask is oil-ree and is almost the same color as the packaging which is nude pink with just a hint of dewy fragrance. Even though I have only applied it only a few times just to give my skin an instant boost, it gave me really good results. I am still keeping it for the upcoming cold weather and it is only then I would take this to a strict test to know for sure if it can handle my withered winter skin. As far as the application is concerned the creamy texture makes it smooth and so easy to apply. After removing my makeup and cleansing before going to bed I applied the mask all over my face evenly and massaged. By this time I thought to myself, ‘how would I sleep with a mask on my skin’? ‘Would it all come off on my bed sheet’? Worry not, after you apply this mask, watch it slowly ‘sink’ into your skin until it’s completely absorbed! Slip into your bed and dream of soft, dewy, glowing skin.

Here’s how Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask works. This luxurious nighttime ritual deeply hydrates the skin and ensures a protective moisture barrier. So while you are dreaming at night the creamy, penetrating mask helps skin “drink in” all that is required to help replenish lost moisture and build reserve for the next day. If you are someone like me who not only suffers from skin misbehavior but also a lot of stress due to your work routine, Aloe and other plant extracts added to this mask will help calm the stresses of the day. Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask helps nourish the lipids that naturally hold in skin moisture. So as I wake up in the morning my skin felt FRESH and looked definitely plump, supple and luminous as it promises! It felt moist with no dry patches. My foundation felt gliding over my moisture-injected skin which NO dry patches.
Like me - do you HATE it when even after applying a moisturizer your skin shows up a few dry patches once you apply the foundation? Happens to me all the time in winters! Hence, the satisfaction is immense.

However, the best part is that Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask did not give me breakouts which I mentally prepared myself for but really hoped it doesn’t happen. Though my skin is combination-to-dry during winters it can still give me acne here and there. Reason being that no matter how dry or stressed your skin is, a deep moisturizer will help your skin moisten but might end up in acne. So the next time you pick up a deep moisturizer during those cold days think twice! While this Overnight Mask is oil free and works great on combination and dry skin however in my personal opinion I would not recommend it for anyone with oily skin as it might give you acne. Also, it might not give you results in summers and during daytime. So keep it for the winter nights.

This mask is equally good if you are looking for anti-aging skin care. Now I am also assuming it would work great for sensitive skin but please make sure beforehand. I plan to apply it at least twice a week for better results but might make it more often as needed. As for now I can safely say I got what I desired from Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask – moisture filled plumper, brighter skin.
