The Body Shop | Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps

Hi Lovelies,

As you already know, I am obsessed with The Body Shop products especially their Skincare and Bath & Body. I am always looking forward to their new range of products. On a recent visit to one of The Body Shop stores around me I wanted to have a little look at their delicious range Chocomania!

The Body Shop' Chocomania range was launched around Valentines – perfect timings.  If you love chocolates you would love this range. Since I’m not a compulsive buyer (yep) I am very careful about what I need so I chose the Chocomania Mini Hearts Soaps. These are the most adorable things ever!  The moment I laid my eyes on them I couldn’t take them off. These came in a chocolate coloured packaging from the back and a transparent sheet on the front. Each pack had four of these cute little soap hearts. I also noticed a single heart shaped soap which was equally adorable and bigger in size. After giving it a thought I went for the packaging of four.

Why I bought The Body Shop' s Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps? Well first off I prefer soaps over face washes. I just feel my skin reciprocates better when I wash it with soap than with a liquid or cream face wash. Secondly, I needed a gentle exfoliating as well since the weather is changing now and the skin getting a little dry and rough. This looked like the perfect ones for me since these had little dark exfoliating beads in them. These mini soaps are part of my everyday skincare regime. I lather up, wash thoroughly and rinse. The results are amazing – clean, fresh and soft skin every time.

Chocomania Mini Heart Soaps contain real cocoa butter hence these are so soft on the skin. While I was shooting photos for the post I could actually feel the soap melting in my hands! It felt so buttery and smooth. The tiny black beads, almost like poppy seeds are actually coconut shell added to the soap for gentle exfoliating. I love it when the soap gets smaller and more and more of these beads appear while I lather up. Lastly, the fragrance is very mild. It is woody with a hint of cocoa butter which makes it an exotic combination. This makes these little heart soaps so luxurious! For me these are a definite re-purchase.

Seductively Straight Heat Protection Intensive Cream | Herbal Essences

Hi lovely ladies, hope you’re having a great weekend!

Today’s review is about one product I never miss out – heat protection. I use a lot of flat irons and blow dryers to style my hair. Your hair keeps the shape in which it cools down which is why flat irons, curling rods and blow dryers help you create those glamorous hair styles and looks. But heat styling can create problems for your hair too. The long term consequences of heat styling are hair breakage, lack of shine and split ends.  But you can avoid the damage by applying protective products and following a few simple rules.  Heat protection products not only prevent heat damage to your hair but help your hair look healthier.

Like I mentioned I’m addicted to flat irons but that leaves me with split ends all the time hence very frequent hair trims. This year I promised myself to take better care of my hair and make them grow longer, healthier. This includes hair trims once split ends start appearing (not every two months), hair oiling, heat protection serums and creams plus hair masks. This time I purchased Herbal Essences Seductively Straight Heat Protection Intensive Cream. Herbal Essences is a brand I haven’t quite experimented with. I have read numerous reviews about this brand however. After going through the description I thought it was worth a try hence the purchase.

Herbal Essences Seductively Straight Heat Protection Intensive Cream is part of the Seductively Straight range from Herbal Essences and the formula contains Pink Lily and Asian Silk. This range is meant for dry/damaged hair. Seductively Straight Heat Protection Intensive Cream comes in a very pretty bright pink bottle with a pump. It’s a leave-in product with medium creamy texture. I really appreciate the pumps since this kind of serves as a scale for the quantity of product you want to use. Once I’m out of the shower I let my hair dry naturally to an extent (I’d say 30%). Then, I take two pumps of this product, rub it gently between my palms and apply throughout my hair emphasizing on the hair tips where split ends show up.  Since I do not want my hair to feel really heavy I use most of the product on the bottom half of my hair. This will instantly make your hair feel smooth. If you need more protection with no heavy feeling try heat protection sprays around the crown of your hair. I leave my hair like that for a minute or two and then go ahead with either the hair straightener or the blow dryer.

The results are incredible. Not only Herbal Essences Seductively Straight Heat Protection Intensive Cream makes my hair beautifully straight it also makes it incredibly soft and lustrous! Since my hair showed up a few split ends here and there before I start using this cream I’m keeping a close eye if this cream will help minimize the damage as much as it can. But till now the results are satisfying and I’m glad I made the purchase. This is definitely a re-purchase for me since it has an affordable price tag as well.

With the right hair products and a few basic rules you can also minimize hair damage. Here are my top 5 tips:

ª Hair must be dry before you use heat to reshape it. If heat is applied to wet hair it damages the hair structure!

ª Applying hair styling products before styling your hair will protect your hair from heat damage.
ª Applying heat protection products on wet hair ensure even distribution of the product.
ª Avoid styling tools which expose metal parts to your hair at all costs! Ceramic surfaces are a better option.
ª Have a hair care routine once a week to deeply nourish your hair and make them look healthier.

Until next time. ©©

The Max Volume Flash Mascara | Rimmel London

Hi lovelies!

The Max Volume Flash Mascara by Rimmel London is comparatively not new. It has been there for a bit.  Rimmel London has been my favorite brand for makeup especially mascaras for so many reasons. The quality is really good compared to the price tag which is low so that’s a plus point. It never dries out, none of my Rimmel London mascaras dried up at least. Moreover, since my usage is enormous that is almost daily, the mascara life is great! I picked this one up after reviewing a lot of other Rimmel London mascaras – old and new. My reason was the same – quality mascara with a low price tag and good result.

I love the packaging. It’s a bright pink with gold writing in a bold font. This makes up a really pretty tube which looks fun and girly. It’s kind of mascara that every uni-student should have! The Max Volume Flash Mascara is supposed to have a BIG brush – their biggest brush ever.  It sure is big and chunky but maybe not as big as it says on the packaging (?!). The brush has very stiff bristles that help push their way through the lashes with ease. The bristles’ pattern is almost crisscross therefore when you apply the product the brush works its way through every lash of yours.

I have average lashes – not too small not too long. Hence the finish is nice and feathery and not-at-all stiff like other mascaras out in the market. I always feel mascaras that make your lashes stiff can damage them. Since I always purchase washable mascaras this felt nice and flexible on my eyelashes. The application is smooth and the mascara doesn’t clump. However I found it a bit difficult to work on my inner eyelashes with the size and length of this brush. So it took some effort and time hence a little con for me. 2 coats would definitely make your eyelashes twice the length as it did in my case. I always prefer my mascara in black and 003 Ultra Black is the perfect black. Moreover it is so easy to remove unlike other mascaras that do not come off nicely once you remove your make up.

Now, having said all this I still need to say that this is not the best mascara I have used in an affordable price bracket. I still believe Maybelline Colossal "Cat Eyes" Volume Express Mascara  has been a better everyday mascara for me – brush, application and final look wise. The Max Volume Flash Mascara by Rimmel London is a good mascara with the price tag that it comes with. And trust me I have seen plenty of cheap mascaras that give you awful results! So my advice would be to give it a try and see if it satisfies you. In my next mascara review I would try to step up and share my experience of superior (read: expensive) mascaras. A big thanks to Sis for being my model here. ♥♥♥

Keep visiting.
